HOW TO APPLY TO THE RIDGEFIELD A BETTER CHANCE PROGRAM

Admission to Ridgefield A Better Chance is extremely challenging.  Our program is designed for highly talented and motivated students of color who have the desire and potential to succeed in high school, to pursue a higher education and to become leaders in life. Applicants should be at the top of the class in their current schools. Our previous Scholars have come to Ridgefield from public middle schools in urban and suburban settings, charter schools and parochial schools.

As we review the applications that we receive, we look for specific criteria which includes: academic achievement (tests scores and grades), excellent recommendations, demonstrated motivation, leadership skills, independence, readiness to leave home and interests apart from academics. We look for young women who aspire to take an active role at school, in the house and in the greater Ridgefield community.

Applications to Ridgefield A Better Chance are received in two ways:

  • By applying through the National A Better Chance program HERE

  • By applying directly to Ridgefield A Better Chance HERE. Please email COMPLETED APPLICATION TO lauradobsonrabc@gmail.com. Please note, applications are due to us by February 15, 2024
